The Horses At Riding The Spectrum

Hope
Hope is the heart and soul of Riding the Spectrum. With a calm, steady presence and a gift for connecting with new riders, he helped shape our program from the very beginning. He seems to know exactly what each rider needs, offering quiet reassurance and patience every step of the way. Around the barn, Hope enjoys gentle grooming sessions and soaking up all the attention he can get.
At Riding the Spectrum, our horses are more than partners—they are the heart of everything we do.
Each one has a unique story, personality, and purpose, and together they help create a safe, supportive space where growth, connection, and confidence can flourish.
Our herd began with Hope, our founding horse, who joined us in June 2025 and helped bring our vision to life. Since then, our family has grown with the addition of Camo, Hollywood and Thunder—each carefully selected not just for their temperament and ability, but for the special qualities they bring to our riders.
Every horse at Riding the Spectrum receives the highest level of care. From individualized nutrition and regular veterinary support to thoughtful training and plenty of rest, we prioritize their physical and emotional well-being. We believe that when our horses feel their best, they can give their best—and that makes all the difference in the lives they touch.
Get to know the incredible horses who make this work possible:

Camo
Camo has been part of our journey from the very beginning, bringing curiosity and a playful spirit to the herd. Always interested in what’s going on around him, he loves exploring and engaging with both riders and staff. His friendly, easygoing nature makes him a wonderful partner for building confidence and trying new things.
Hollywood
Hollywood lives up to his name with a big personality and undeniable charm. He loves being the center of attention and has a playful spirit that keeps everyone smiling. Despite his star quality, he’s incredibly intuitive and forms quick bonds with riders. His favorite activities include showing off in the arena and sneaking extra treats when no one’s looking.
Thunder
Don’t let the name fool you—Thunder is a gentle giant with a soft heart. His steady, rhythmic movement makes him a wonderful partner for riders who benefit from consistency and calm energy. He’s also very playful, bringing a bit of fun and personality to every interaction. Known for his kind eyes and patient nature, he enjoys relaxing in the sunshine after a good session.

Gunnar
Don’t let his size fool you—Gunnar may be small, but he’s truly the king of the ranch. Owned by Kathy of Abel Ranch, this mighty Shetland pony has a big personality and an even bigger heart. He absolutely loves attention and is often the first to greet new visitors with curiosity and confidence.
Gunnar plays a special role in helping those who feel nervous around horses. With his gentle nature and approachable size, he creates a safe and welcoming introduction, helping riders build trust before transitioning to working with the rest of the herd. Along the way, Gunnar helps teach important skills like responsibility, confidence, and independence—one small but powerful step at a time.
